Need some advice as to best route from Michigan to Wisconsin Dells.
I will be coming out of Michigan on I-94.
I have been in Chicago without the trailer and know how crazy it is.
Looking for best way around to avoid the headaches.
I know Cookie is from Wisconsin, so need advice from him or other Wisconsin members.
I know I have a lot of time yet, but can never start too early on planning.
Looking forward to the trip.

Gary, there is no good way to navigate Chicago, however Sunday mornings before 11:00 things are usually not to bad.
You should not have to go through Chicago, but skim the south end of it along with Gary, IN.
I would take I-94 to I-80 west right on over to I-39 north at LaSalle, IL. Take that up to I-90/94 west to WI hwy 23.

Peace
Dave

I hate the "white knuckle" driving around Chicago and I agree with Cookie so I use interstate 80 to I 39 outside of LaSalle then head to Wisconsin. Timing is everything around the south end of the lake where interstate 294 comes in with 80 just near the Indiana border so avoid the times between 2 and 6 PM, that appears to be the rush-hour. And appears to be worse heading east than it does west on I 80. Dan Halverson advise me to use State Highway 30 south of I 80 to avoid almost all of it and then connect in to interstate 80 near New Lenox. Hope this helps. It does add about another 45 to 50 minutes of drive time but it's well worth it.

I agree with everyone, go west on I80 then north. We went through there last month, 80 to 294 to 290 to 90 during pre am rush hour. I can deal with heavy traffic but the road construction NW of Chicago real added to the pain. Extensive work, adding additional lanes-doubt it will be done by next year

We are happy to announce that we will be having a second night of entertainment on Saturday featuring the "Opry Chicks", a local band that is featured at the Wisconsin Opry during the summer months here in the Dells. They will play a variety of music from Country to Rock and Roll "oldies". We will also be featuring a Cornhole Tournament with cash paybacks. Please spread the word about the Wisconsin HOC Rally coming soon in August.

Just a reminder that the Wisconsin Chapter of the Heartland Owners Club has its own Facebook page and we are encouraging Wisconsin and other chapters members to join to learn what's new in the Wisconsin RVing world and for Chapter rally updates. We also encourage members of the Facebook page to post on the Facebook page their events and adventures while RVing.

That's awesome Gerry! We won't make it this year but I know you'll have a great time. Terry puts on a great rally and the people that come to this rally are a lot of fun.

Thanks Jim,
With Deb retiring we plan on going more places although not full time. Other family things out there for now but definitely more days and places than in the past
