Rally

theresa,Thanks for letting us help out we had a great time. Thanks to all that showed up. It was our first rally, and am looking forward to many more. We feel a little envious to all the retirees out there as we both still work. Jim did your dogs like the cup? Also I made Larry back out of his pull-through for practice. Must say he was a little surprised that it was so easy after I gave him a couple of suggestions on steering, right Larry?

Butch,

Thank Stacey (you too Lar) for the cup. As soon as I got home Sunday night, the dogs snacked on some of the biscuits that came with the cup. Not sure if Nancy is using it or not but I see that it has been moved from the coffee table.

Thank you to Art & Theresa, Butch & Stacy, Jim for Comming out on his birthday and everyone else that helped make this first Cen Ca Rally a success. We enjoyed meeting you all and sharing ideas. The food was Fantastic even the Cat poo cake  once you got past the visual. Now we all get to go home and work on our new mods. What is with that s.o.b. (John ) thinking he is an upscale Heartland owner Like the rest of us Really now. No really John was great and greatly contributed to the succes of the rally. I Know Larry thought it was a success since he With the help of Butch , Jim and who who knows who else Got his rear J.T. Stabelizers put on and a few questions answered. Now He and Debbie can rock and roll with that big 42" (LCD) all they want without moving the coach. You got to love him. Even though he got an extra hole or 2 in the frame lol . No one got the much dreaded bedroom slide gash Whew :D. Outside of picking the 3 coldest days of the year so far (What was up with that Theresa Lol) it was great. We need to order up some warm weather for next year. Then we can get some outdoor games going take advantage of that ladder golf game of Butch and stacy. The blended drinks That I believe Stacy made would be much more desireable if it was warmer. This one was good but now that we are familiar with each other and everyone has some experience at this I believe next year will be even better.I am sure we can add a few new ones also. Be able to check out some 2010's maybe even a Cyclone,Big country,Sundace, north trail or even see the revolutionary big secret. Hopefully we could have more than one Landmark to take the pressure off of Marybeth although she was very gratious. I will remember to throw in some good metal backed tape for sure this time. We are really going to enjoy those Binoculars at the coast next week :D. Theresa, When we get back from Seacliff We will let you know how that U turn went. It is going to be a tight one. no guts no glory. Just wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone involved.

OK, I've made the kitty litter cake a time or two, but the cat stepping out of the box is priceless! I wish I had thought of that the last time I made it.

Debi and Larry - Don't forget - we want the recipe for the raspberry cheese dip/spread. It was so good. Those little hot dogs wrapped in bacon were pretty darn tasty too. You know, we probably need all of the recipes. Start a new thread. I'll do that now.

First of all, thanks for all the hospitality and fun times at the nocal/central fall rally. It was awesome. John, you are a great SOB, can we borrow you for the socal rally in pechanga that we are at now. Tess and Art really know how to throw a party and made us socalers feel very comfortable. Special thanks to Butch and Stacy, JimBo and Butch for the installation of the rear JT stabilizers and Butch's driving instructions. MaryBeth you are a sweetheart and thanks from Deb for your kudos for making that raspberry cheese pie. It was great seeing Dave and Kathy, and meeting all the no/cen cals new friends including Greg(Mr. HVAC) and Shelley. Wish the weather was a lot warmer but you can't have everything. Debbi and I had a blast. Traveled 1000 miles so far as we lounge in the warm weather of Pechanga after a drunken 3 days at the wine country rv resort waiting for our socal friends to show tomorrow for our third 2008 rally this year in Pechanga. All I can say the rally was well planned, great fun, and we met alot of new friends that I hope we can travel again with. Stacy you are just a sweetheart and Deb and I really enjoyed our time with u and butch the last evening and hope to see you guys soon. The only mystery is whether JimBo really has a rig at all, as we have seen him at 3 rallies, and always flys in and stays at hotels (ask him about the famous room 1069 and Juanita the maid, just kidding) JimBo nice rah rah speech on Heartland. Super news we have moved up to number 3 fifth wheels.
Thanks again to all and to all our new friends. It was worth the trip. My goal is always to goof around and I am really getting good at parking with my eyes closed.

Larry,

You sure seem to be making the rounds to all the rallies! How about getting some rally photos posted to the HOG 2008 Rally section so the working stiffs of the Forum can enjoy your fun!

Y'all have fun out there!! :D

THANK YOU to all who attended the Jackson Rally!

I would like to thank everyone for coming out to our First Central California Rally! We had such a GREAT time, considering the cold temps for those first 2 evenings. Jim B...it was a pleasure having you to share this special event with us and celebrating your birthday with you! Larry & Debbie (Larryheadhunter) to drive all the way from the southern CA to join us...it was worth your trip, wasn't it?! :D Especially, to have Butch (GMC) and Jim B help install your JT Stabilizers! Try beating our Rally, it was FANTASTIC!!!! ;):)

A special thanks to our SOB friends, "John D" who worked very hard non-stop with all the help that was needed (I don't think he even took one minute to rest) and to "Lucy" for graciously providing us with all the Halloween decorations for the Club House. All those who helped her with setting up the decorations, you all did a beautiful job! And to John & Shirley (HappyT), for providing us with the melamine Halloween plates, forks & napkins for both of our potlucks. To Stacy (GMC) for all your help with planning this event and for going out to shop with me for those 'extra' raffle prizes. To everyone else who also helped out, thank you so much!!!

Friday night was the meet & greet with munchies provided. Brrrrr, it was cold that evening!! Sorry, I had no control on the weather, it was not their normal temp for this time of year. It was a chance for all of us Heartland owners to meet for the first time. We surprised Jim B with a birthday cake and cards for his 48th birthday! Thanks to those who brought the booze & to Stacy for making the margaritas to share.

Saturday night was our Appetizer potluck and the 50/50 raffle. Everyone brought an appetizer dish to share....it was all so delicious so lets all share the recipes! An added decoration to our table was a cute Halloween tree with candy treats wrapped in tiny bags made by Hennie (Kevin and Henny White) for each of us. We sold raffle tickets and for the raffle winners, 50% was divided between Ray (slmayor) and Stacy (GMC)! Everyone brought their gifts to play the "Gift Stealing Game" but it was so cold that evening, we all decided postpone the game and play it at the Dinner Potluck the next evening.

Sunday night at the Club House was our Dinner Potluck, the Gift Stealing Game & Gift Raffle. What a surprise to walk into the Club House and see all the beautiful Halloween decorations that covered our tables and the little bowls filled with candy! All the donated gifts were also displayed very nicely. John D and John & Shirley (HappyT) were out there BBQing the burgers & hot dogs! John D was also working in the kitchen, slicing up veggies and washing dishes....he did not stop for anything! LOL There was so much food to eat, all sorts of salads, desserts and main dishes....not to mention the 'Cat Litter Box" dessert! Did you all get a chance to taste it? LOL The Gift Stealing game was so much fun stealing the gifts from one another, you never knew who was going to steal your favorite gift! For the Gift Raffle, tickets were sold and there were numerous people who had multiple winning. Always remember, the more tickets you purchased, the more chances you had a winning those prizes!

I really appreciate all those who helped with the Rally and for the donations of gifts for the Gift Raffle. Thanks to Dale (dbrnard) for selling the raffle tickets. Money collected from the raffles helped to fund some of the cost of our Rally and the remainder will be saved for the next Central Cal rally. It was your input and team work that made our Rally a great success! I'm planning our next Fall rally for October 2009. I'd like to take a vote on how many would like to have it at Jackson Rancheria again! I want to make the reservations early and if we can get more than 15 rigs signed up, we'll get the discounted rate and we can reserve the Club House for at least 2 nights. Hopefully, next year will be BIGGER & BETTER with warmer temps! You can all invite your SOB friends, so get them signed up too....especially if they can work as hard as "John D" did. :D:cool: LOL Our Rally is only for those who sign up to join us, so please tell your friend if they want to join in on the fun. Hoping by this time next year, our SOB friends Lucy & Jim will have a new Bighorn too!

Jackson Rancheria RV Park is beautiful offering spacious sites with grassy areas to sit out and relax. They offered FREE laundry service and FREE coffee & hot chocolate to all their guest. Shuttle service was provided every 20 minutes to pick up those who wanted to go to the Casino. You can't find a more beautiful RV park in the Central Valley with all their amenities and beautiful grounds!

AGAIN... THANKS and hope you all had a great time as we did. :) Looking forward to seeing you at the next Rally!

Teresa, count us in for next October. We had a great time and the park at Jackson was wonderful. We'll try to be there on time next year and won't let the daughter borrow/wreck the truck. Hopefully no duct tape holding the fender together, either. :)
As great as this rally was, just imagine next year's after you "trained" us all as to what a "real" rally was! LOL Can't wait!

Teresa, you can count on Kathy and I for next Octobers Rally. We had a great time. Maybe we can get a Pre-Rally wine tasting group together to explore the local wines.

Although I am a socaler Debbi and I are going to go to all the Cal rallies if we can. Heartland owners seem to be top notch folks, and as Greg said posess great mechanical abilities. It was worth the 1000 miles we traveled so far. 11 day trip is always sweet. Hope to see you all sooner rather than later. MaryBeth you courageous woman, we will post the recipe for the raspberry cheese appetizer at the thread.

We arrived at the Rally a day early and stayed three days after and the company was exceptional. It was great to meet many new friends and we are looking forward to getting together again. As you have read John D. was a dynamo and almost like perpetual motion. I don’t even want to call him a SOB, he’s just one of the group. If there are some of you who have not met Jim B., I hope you get to. He is a wealth of knowledge and a definite asset to Heartland. We stayed the three days after the Rally with Art & Teresa and Jim & Lucy “Family SOB’s”. We visited and potlucked, the ladies did some shop hopin and I got in a round of golf. We stayed at Jim & Lucy’s the day we left and they are now planning on getting a Bighorn. Partly on the quality of the Bighorn and partly on the quality of the people who own them. Thanks to Art and Teresa for a fun Rally.

Maybe I can bring a little sheet metal and some good tape next time so we can get rid of the coke can and foil tent in the vent in Larry's rig. . Not that there is anything wrong with that. It will just cost you that big bottle of Belvedeire . Just kidding I wouldn't really bring metal to a rally lol.

Greg bring it on buddy. The rattling of the coke can is driving me crazy in the air conditioner. Being retired let's go out halfway between our home bases one weekend and i will personally watch you and Shelly down that Belvedere. Hope you will share it with Debbi and me. Or bring some hangover medicine. Not kidding LOL
