Lakota Wolf Preserve

This is why we are rallying here.

The wolf preserve is up in the mountains about 8 miles from the campground and is a must see if you have even a smidgeon of interest in animals.
Last time we were there there were about 5 or 6 packs and approximately 30 wolves. This is probably the closest you can get to seeing wolves in a "as best it can be" natural habitat that protects both the wolves and the gawkers.

The preserve doesn't exactly do group tours, but they do make group arrangements. As a collective, it would probably be better for us to go as a group on Friday.
Tours are 10:30am and 3:00pm. Individually, you can go any day but Monday (closed).

Groups are slightly discounted as "every 10th person is no charge" Cash only for groups, cash or check otherwise.

There is a poll at the top of the thread to gauge interest in the tour. Please vote only if you are attending the rally.

***** UPDATE *****

The Wolf preserve isn't really a "we cater to groups" place, although there is a slight discount for parties of 10 or more. Not sure how to work the buy 10 get 1 free yet.

The Wolf Preserve Tour, figure on a couple of hours from the time you leave the CG until return.
Tours are available at 10:30 and 4:00

The Friday (weekday) tours must have a confirmed appointment, group or individuals.
Also must be a confirmed appointment for a group tour on Saturday or Sunday

As we get close to the date I will ask again for a headcount.
We have to be at the Preserve 1/2 hour before the tour.
The Preserve is approximately 8 miles, 15 minutes from the campground.

If the group prefers the morning tour, we should plan on leaving the Rally campground at 9:30-9:45

I'm posting just so I can keep up with events. Unfortunately we'll be enjoying the sun and sand in MB. Good luck with your maiden rally!!!

Limited hours yes, for now it is a couple of hours on Thursdays.

I would suggest, email all your info, give it a few days then call.

About the same for us Jon, since we will be coming from Whaleyville.

As the crow flies, I don't think there is a closer campground in Jersey for you to travel to. It is few miles south of 80 at the border.

And don't forget - getting into Jersey is easy, it's the getting out part that hurts.

"OH NO SAY IT AINT SO," the youngin is breaking away from us!:(

Yes sir. Missed her first rallies last year. (NY & MA). Unfortunatly, she'll probably only be in Goshen this year.
PA Rally- she's in HS play
Hershey- first week of school
MD Rally- marching band
NJ Rally- marching band
NY Rally- Jazz Band

Going to try to get to Masseys Landing in August with her. Might have to change her room in the ElkRidge to a Den. She can sleep on the couch. Lol.
