ATF: North Trail - Leak above slideout

I am new to this forum, hoping I can get some help and good direction. Recently purchased a used 2013 Heartland North Trail 29BDSS travel trailer and have been excited to use it, however after just 2 weeks of ownership noticed above the slide out there is a 3/4" piece of plywood behind the inner slide out seal that is rotting and water saturated, which in turn the seal won't stay stapled up. I'm trying to find the cause of the leak but am unable to? There is no sign of water anywhere in the trailer, or the slide-out anywhere, only behind that seal where the plywood is. How would one go about replacing that piece of plywood without removing the entire slide-out? I would post a picture but I don't have access to that part of the forum being a new member.
