Freeze Sensor

I opened the air conditioner grille in the ceiling to clean it and what looks like a sensor dropped down. It has what looks like a wire clip on one side and two black wires. From the schematic, I think it's the freeze sensor but no idea where or how it was attached up there. Any ideas?

John it attaches to the evaporator if you look about halfway up you will see where it was stuck in the coils
