Texas-South Chapter Leader-Retired
Hi everyone! We’re really looking forward to serving as your new South Texas Chapter leaders. We have BIG shoes to fill as Tom & Marti were excellent leaders. But…we’re up for the challenge!

For those of you that have never met us...here's a little background:

We ordered our 2011 Landmark Key Largo in January of 2011, picked it up in March and started full-timing in April...and we still LOVE it! Michael retired from the U.S. Army in October of 2012 and it was at that time that we were free to roam the country.

We spend roughly October to April in south Texas working as gate guards in the oil fields...something we've done since January of 2014. A good way to make a little extra cash and still be able to be together.

We have 2 grown sons and 5 grandchildren who currently live in Utah and Wisconsin so we do quite a bit of traveling between them...as well as Michael's mother (in Arkansas) who is our only living parent.

We look forward to seeing everyone at an upcoming rally…some we’ve known for years, some for just a short while and some of you we’ve not yet had the privilege of meeting.

We are currently setting aside the weekend of October 13 – 15 for our first rally as your south Texas chapter leaders. After talking with Jay and Stella we’re hoping to find a park in the Coastal Bend area to hold a fall rally. We are currently in the process of contacting parks regarding availability for that time frame.

If you know of a park in the Coastal Bend area (Aransas Pass, Rockport, etc) that would be able to accommodate 25 or so rigs, has a meeting room large enough to hold 50 people or more, is close to attractions, etc please don’t hesitate to let us know.

In addition, if you can recommend a park within the south Texas chapter boundaries that meets the above criteria we’d like to hear from you. We’re open to anything as this is your owners club and it is you who makes the Heartland family what it is.

Very shortly, we will be creating a South Texas Chapter Heartland Owners Club group on Facebook so that we can communicate there as well as, here, on the forum. We will send out invites to those that we currently have as Facebook friends and ask that you include anyone that we may not have as friends.
