Hitch touches cap after letting trailer down

Hello, I have a 2007 Cyclone FW 4012 which I purchased not long ago. With the trailer lifted off of the truck there is 3/4" gap between the nose cap and the top of the hitch, when I let he the trailer down onto the truck the cap then touches the top of the hitch. I am new to the forum and can not attach any pics. Is this much flex normal? Thanks Jim

That is not normal.
Call Heartland Customer Service, have your VIN handy when you do.
877-262-8032
They will most likely request some pics.

Peace
Dave

Just got Heartlands response They do not know why, and will not be participating in any repairs due to not original hitch or owner

I would suspect a major structural problem at or near the hitch mount.

I would not move that trailer until I pulled it apart and inspected it.

I am going to guess broken welds.

Does the nose cone need to come off or just the fiberglass area behind the hitch?

There are experts here that can tell you exactly.

Looking at mine I would take down the area sheeting behind the hitch and see what I could see or perhaps use an inspection camera, definitely not the nose cone.

That is what I was thinking also, did not want to tackle the nc if I do not have to. Thanks
