Carefree awning protective cover

Our 3 year old awning seam threads near the RV have come loose at both ends. Most likely due to the sun in outside storage. I plan to repair the awning since the vinyl material still looks new.
Has anyone installed an aftermarket awning cover that will not require removing the existing awning or use a ladder to cover the awning every time we use it?
I did contact Carefree of Colorado since the tag states "many years of safe and reliable service"...3 years on stitching???
