Heartland RVs has announced updates to the Big Country brand for the 2018 model year.
Big Country fifth wheels will now come standard with 12V heat pads on water tanks in the 2018 calendar year. A water filter has been incorporated into the water inlet on the universal docking station, and all floorplans now come with 40-inch fireplaces and most feature 55-inch LED TVs in the entertainment center.
“The main focus this year for Big Country was to make the interior lighter,” said Matt Olds, product manager of Big Country and Elkridge. “We combined the rich wood tone, which has been a favorite with our customers, with lighter accents, countertops, and flooring. We also upgraded the light box over the kitchen island with LEDs for a more modern appeal.”
Valances and window trim in the main living area are now made with solid wood. Linoleum has been updated with a new color and design, and Shaw carpet has been upgraded and features new padding.
Big Country RVs will be equipped with new High Max solid-surface countertops, and also will feature new wall board throughout the coach. Big Country RVs can be outfitted with one of two decor options: Dresden, a darker leather with a subtle top stitch design, and Havana, a lighter soft brown leather. The 2018 line also will offer more than 145 cubic feet of pass-through storage and insulated slam-latch baggage doors with magnetic latches. Exterior storage areas are fully lined and entertainment prepped.
More USB ports have been added, and theater seats are powered with heat and massage capabilities. The six-point Level Up system now features touchpad controls. Big Country also offers options for a 22-cubic-feet residential refrigerator with a through-door water dispenser, Dyson vacuum system, artistic ceiling beams, and a 50-amp power cord reel.
“We have two new floorplans – the 3155RLK and the 3310QSCK – that are under 38 feet to accommodate those customers who prefer a luxury fifth wheel but want to camp at state and national parks,” said Olds.
The popular 4010RD floorplan and several other models with rear entertainment centers have been outfitted with retractable TV mounts.
“A lot of the standard features on the Big Country are upgrades on other fifth wheels in the market,” Olds said. “It’s a luxury fifth wheel with more bang for the buck.”

We've purchased the 2018 Big Country 3155RLK and it is a beautiful rig. We shopped around a bit and the Big Country was in our price range and was far more luxurious than the other units we looked at. Waiting anxiously for it to arrive at our dealer this week. This will be our full time home.
