Lafayette Edition

Saw thru facebook that LM is either coming out with or bringing back the LaFayette name. Floorplan looks nice. 1 1/2 baths to boot. One issue is that you have to go up or down steps for relaxing or sleeping. What's under the rear raised portion?

I was told it was going to be similar to the Phoenix. That it would have a very large storage area under the back. There are large access doors on each side, plus an even larger one in the rear with a pull out tray.

Is there any update on the Lafayette edition? I'd really like to walk through one but haven't seen any dealers with one.

i have seen that design in other brands, primarily Grand Design. It effectively takes some of the surplus head room in the rear living area and turns it into below-floor storage.

The DW really likes the design. Me, not so much. Just more space to haul more “just in case” stuff. Also I would look closely at the cargo carrying capacity and see how much you could really carry.

My wife doesn't like any of the "sunken" kitchen designs. She says that she would be exhausted walking up and down the steps, waiting on me. Her words, not mine.

These are getting out to dealers now. Pretty sure Michael and Kelly Barnett did a walk-through on one a couple weeks back at T&S RVs in Navasota, TX.

If you want to see one, give Heartland a call tomorrow at 877-262-8032 and ask for the Landmark Sales Team. Ask them to check lot stock in your area for the Lafayette. If nothing near you, they "may" be able to tell you what dealers closest to you have one on order so you can make arrangements with that dealer to see it when it arrives.

we just got our Lafayette a week ago. it is similar to the Phoenix but reversed layout and has a bigger rear bathroom and half bathroom.there are 4 passthru storage underneath. lots of storage inside and out.my wife is loving the layout and seems to find some new jem everyday to tell me about .they are hard to find much info on as only a couple are out at dealers yet.If anyone has questions let me know.

I will but not sure when we will get over that way.The Lafayette is an awesome model we have been looking to upgrade for a little while and we were looking at other models,like the Oshkosh and the Phoenix but this layout we think is better it has a real wow factor.
