Am I getting the wool pulled over my eyes?

We bought our Pioneer in Nov. 2017 at Camping world. We also bought the hitch work too. (I know I got taken on it) but anyway, the hitch is a Curt Mdg (Camping World) WDH. It’s rated at 10,000 trailer and 1000 tongue. Well I weighed the last outting and tongue weight was 1260lb I have nothing in the nose except drop cords and water hose, chairs etc. I asked them about upgrading because my torsion bars bend before I get all the weight back on the front of the TV. They ordered 1400lb bars for me to get and said I could still use the same hitch head. Does this sound right/safe?

I have an E2 hitch and had no issues moving from a 600lb bar to a 1000. when you look at e-trailer or somewhere like that you will see the same head can be purchased with several different capacity bars

Congrats on the new trailer!

My limited experience with this was some hitch heads stop at 1000/10000 and require a new head to up-size past the 10,000 mark because the bars diameter is larger on the +1000 bars.

Check with your specific head specification and see what bars are available.
