Big Green Egg

Hi JEdwards,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge if needed.

Yep,, heard lots of good reports on the Big Green Egg... and it is pricey. When you make your mods to the Egg Cart, you might post some pictures so others could get ideas also.

Mean while, enjoy the forum and your new Road Warrior.

Has anyone tried the Cobb BBQ? It's a South African product and being metal, is much lighter than the BGE.

Are you referring to the BGE or the Cobb?

Love the BGE! Try a ribeye steak. Get the heat up to 600º(all vents open!) or so, put the steak on for 2 minutes, flip the steak, two minutes more, close all the vents, go 2 minutes more....result: perfect medium rare steak. Yum! Also check out the BGE users forum and the Naked Whiz web site (http://www.nakedwhiz.com/dogfront.htm). We have done the Thanksgiving turkey on the Egg for the last several year and there are never any leftovers.
