2019 CY 4270 Hisense Frig Operations Manual?

We have a 2019 CY4270 with a Hisense Residential Frig in it (no water or ice in the door). The user manual that came with it is just a generic Hisense user manual and doesn't pertain to having it in an RV. When you are travelling, does this frig run off of the battery, the inverter, or does it not work unless it's plugged into a power source?

Hi Larry and Michelle,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

If this is the kitchen refrigerator, as opposed to a small outside refrigerator, then it runs on 120V AC. The 120V is supplied by either shore power, or by your batteries while towing or boon docking. There is a small inverter, dedicated to the refrigerator, that converts the battery power to 120V AC. From the inverter, it goes to a small transfer switch, also dedicated to the refrigerator. When shore power is available, the transfer switch uses shore power. When not available, the transfer switch uses the inverter output if the inverter has been turned ON.

If you're towing all day, the charge flowing from the truck will help to offset power used by the refrigerator. If you have an overnight stop without power, you can expect the refrigerator to run overnight without completely discharging your RV batteries. For longer stays with no shore power, you'll need to recharge the batteries with a generator, or solar installation.

You can read all about this in our owner-written Residential Refrigerator user guide.

We have a Road Warrior 427. On the side of the kitchen cabinet going up the stairs is a small white panel with a switch in it. Also in this little panel is a green light. Push and hold the switch for a few seconds until the green light comes on. Once the green light comes on the frig will run off the battery while towing.

Dane can explain it better to you, but that is the layman's terminology.

Thank you both so much! The manual was very helpful as well! We will be travelling from SC to FL (about a 7 - 8 hour trip) and we
just wanted to make sure if we put things in the frig or freezer they would not get hot, so thank you for helping us! This will only be our second trip in our new camper. The first one was only to a place about an hour and 15 mins away.
