Where to mount generator on-board in 2020 Pioneer 327 Fifth Wheel?

We just purchased the unit and would like to on-board a generator. However, we have no idea where to put it and the manual with which they provided us is for a Landmark 365 so not really applicable. Does anyone have any suggestions or could point us in the right direction please? Thank you in advance.

Factors to consider:

  • Is the generator to be stored and run from the front compartment?
    • You'll need to modify the bottom of the compartment to allow ventilation.
    • Exhaust pipe needs to be added so it releases fumes in a safe location.
    • You need to connect the generator electrical output to the junction box that feeds the transfer switch.
    • You need power from your batteries to start the generator.
    • Depending on generator, you may need to install wiring for a remote start.
  • Fuel type: gas, diesel, or propane
    • Gas is readily available but very volatile. Where does the fuel get safely stored. You might have a fuel cell and pump installed.
    • Diesel is also readily available. Again - you may need a fuel cell and pump.
    • Propane - you already have 2 tanks. You'd need to run a propane hose from after the dual regulator, to the generator.
  • Interaction with your PCS energy management system is dependent on the generator remote.
  • How much do you plan to run the generator, and how often?
    • Propane supply will limit your run time. A 5500 watt generator can consume as much as 1 gallon per hour of run time. A 30 lb tank contains about 7 gallons. A 40 lb tank about 9 gallons.
  • How much power do you need? What do you plan to run? A Landmark 365 with factory installed generator provides 5500 watts. That will run 2 A/C units and more.

Alternatives include things like a pair of 2200 watt Honda inverter generators with parallel kit. Generators stay in your truck and run on gasoline from cans.
