Have never owned anything except a pop up camper. Just purchased a 2017 3965DSS. Any tips on living in this model appreciated.

Hi Otpaddler,

Congratulations on the new-to-you Big Country and welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

One thing I'd recommend is to look through our owner-written user guides in this folder. There's a lot of information that may be helpful to you.

Also, check out our owners club. It's free to join and membership gets you into local rallies where you'll meet like-minded people and you'll have an opportunity to see how others are using their rigs, and what modifications they've made.

We have it's lil brother/sister 3560SS and love it. One thing we encountered was the outside trim around main hallway/bed slide (not the slide-n-slide) got popped out due to pressure of things. HL said to add a lot more screws (in our case covered under warranty). Since the addition of the extra screws, all is AOK. If not already done, add wet bolt kit to susp. When extending the slides that have the Schwintek system, extend all the way out all the time. If not, it somehow messes up the system in some fashion. 1 thing I don't like w/ the hallway slide is what can be a PITA to get to the bathroom while on the road or at pit stop. But can overlook that while enjoying the rest of the coach!
