Issues with “Pre-wired for furrion cameras”

So this is a write up of what i ended up finding when i installed an aftermarket wireless backup camera from Amazon. Let me start by saying that i did not find a lot about how the pre-wired housing are wired in to the Mallard. Also the headlights on tow vehicle needs to be on (the automatic on headlight setting may not activate the camera when you need it) for there to be power to the “pre-wired” lines. For the camera set up i purchased i could not get the camera to power up, when i initially plugged it in (even with the lights on). I traced the wire and found that they tapped into the running lights, above the camera mount, specifically the one closes to the driver side (far left, facing the rear of the TT). Once I removed the light and gained access to the wires I switched the hot and ground around. This resulted in power to the camera and video on the monitor.
