Vent Cap

While up on roof checking caulking, I noticed the vent caps have a small hole on top of them. It looks like there was caulking covering the holes but I can't tell for sure. Should these holes be caulked? It doesn't make sense to have the hole and then caulk it.

If it's the factory caps the hole has 1 screw in it to keep from loosening the cap. The 3 tabs hold it in place but the screw keeps it from flying off if a tree branch or something dislodges it.

While that you are up there - when I checked mine I found that the riser was cut too short and allowed the sewer gas to be pulled back down the outside of the riser. Just thought you would like to check yours out if you are getting sewer smell in your unit
