Going to look at a [h=1]2017 HEARTLAND BIGHORN M-3750FL[/h]Concerning carrying capacity does that include full water tank?

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

Carrying capacity would be Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) minus empty weight. Empty weight doesn't include a full water tank.

Dan is spot on with his response. To add an even finer point on this, I copied this information from the online manual on how Heartland defines these terms:

• Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): is the maximum permissible weight of this trailer when fully loaded. It includes all weight at the trailer axle(s) and tongue or pin.
• Unloaded Vehicle Weight (UVW): is the weight of this trailer as manufactured at the factory. It includes all weight at the trailer axle(s) and tongue or pin. If applicable it also includes full generator fluids, including fuel, engine oil and coolants.
• Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC): U.S. - Equal to the GVWR minus the UVW and LP gas weight. (Water is considered a component of cargo) Canada - Equal to GVWR minus the UVW, full fresh (potable) water weight (including the water heater) and full LP gas weight.
• Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR): is the value specified as the load carrying capacity of a single axle system, as measured at the tire-ground interfaces.
• Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW): is the weight of the coach with all the items and supplies that are loaded into the unit at any point in time.

Thank you both for the reply and clarification. Had seen some 5th wheels that gave CC amount with water tank tanks already full.

The sticker on the side of the Bighorn, where the vin number and tire sizes are, there will be a carrying capacity rating with the fresh water tank and water heater full. There is also a carrying capacity listed not including the fresh water. You have both.

16,000-13,700 = 2,300 carrying capacity.

Just about all of the 5th wheels back then had the same 16K GVWR.

Our 2017 BH3575el has a 3050 carrying capacity, with the same 16,000 GVWR. We used most of that full timing in it for almost 2 years. Chris
