GREAT idea!!! We have not traveled most of the area from Texas to Indiana and would love some highlights of sites along the route. Our route would be from south of Houston to Goshen. We did visit Diamond Crater State Park in Arkansas (lot of work but fun) about two years ago and hope to include it on our trip to/from the rally. We would really like recommendations or personal insight that others have experienced along that general route and found worth the visit. We plan to take about six weeks for the trip as we full-time.

We may try to get to Indiana Beach Amusement park. Haven't decided yet, may be too far of a drive for a day trip. My parents used to take us there when we were camping as youngsters. I would also like to go to the dunes. I can remember taking some sort of army vehicle ride throug the dunes by the water, I guess the lake. Great idea adding these sites to see.

Hey Ray,
What is the Wolf Park?

The Wolf Park is a park where they have a number of live wolves you can see. I have never been there but I understand it is a type of a preserve for wolves and even have a petting area. I know someone else is planning a trip there and can shed more information on it as they have been there before. Here is the link to Wolf Park http://www.wolfpark.org/

Linuxkidd's significant other (wife I think) had mentioned the Wolf Park. It sounded like something we would enjoy. We've been to the Wolf Center in Ely MN. and enjoyed it too.

As some of you folks are reading this thread be sure and check out some of the links I have posted on post #1. That will allow you to check out things to see if there is an interest in going there. We personally can recommend the Das Essenhaus in Middleburg as a place to eat. The food is to served 'family style' (bowls with the food in it are passed around) and their homemade noodles and their homemade pies are just wonderful. If you go there be sure to go there hungry as you will be "full as a tick" when you finish and will have to waddle out. You can also check out their store and take home some homemade noodles and pie. BTW they also sell their Jams, Apple Butter, Noodles, and some Pies at the Farmers Market in Elkhart. Wow, getting hungry just talking about it.... we can't wait...
