We have loaned our trailer to family to use for the week , in the process of demonstration the Awning operation I jammed the awning up with the support bars locked in as I lowered the Awning trying to show the process of stowing the awning in case of weather...
I am a great instructor as I said don't do this and proceeded to do it and jam up the works!
In the process of getting the awning un locked we broke the center Rod which I believe is attached the Front (Forward )torsion spring inside. This is a Manual Dometic Awning of approximately 20'.
This pipe which is located inside the roller for the Awning fabric had a bolt through it attaching it to the vertical arm, the pipe broke where the bolt goes through and meets the arm.
The trailer is 2 hours away, any suggestions as to how this can be fixed. I cant seem to find out how big the size is of awning is online, plus if it is a 20 plus foot awning does this internal pipe run the whole length of the awning or is it two sections one for either end of the support posts.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
