So sad to hear. She looks like a beautiful dog. Logan can't wait to meet her.

There will be a lot of owners who have rescued dogs and will be happy to give you advice.

Looking forward to meeting your family.

The Bark Park logo represents a “Heart with a Paw”. For dog owners, this is especially true. Dogs touch our hearts every day with an unconditional love. This is even more so for those who travel with us in our Heartland RV’s.

Bark Park
  • The Bark Park is located in the North West section of the Elkhart County 4-H Fairground.
  • Look for the Bark Park Banner identifying the park.
  • The Bark Park is an off-leash area to bring “Fido” to run, play, or just lay under a tree.
  • Review and follow “Dog Petiquette” so all our 4-legged friends and owners can enjoy the Bark Park.
  • Benches will be available. Please be considerate of members who may require the need to sit.
  • Should you have balls and Frisbees to loan to the park it would be appreciated.
  • There will be a $1 entry fee (per pet) to attend the “Dog Social”.
  • Volunteers. We will need a few volunteers to assist with the “Dog Social”. Please reply to the thread if you are interested.
  • Ideas and suggestions are welcome!
Dog Requirements
  • Ensure your pet’s vaccinations are up to date.
  • Ensure you pet is in general good health (no open sores or contagious conditions).
  • The Bark Park will have two sections. One for dogs under 20 lbs., the other for dogs over 20 lbs.
Bark Park Coordinators and Hosts
  • Ann Mayer (Ann_Mayer)
  • Christine Fournelle (petruca)

Thanks so much! There will be 3 separate play areas (one for tiny dogs <10 lbs; one for small dogs <30; & one for med/lrg dogs > 30 lbs). The more help the merrier!

We'll be there with 2 other couples, that have 3 dogs so we'll be escorting 1 of the babies. All of them over 30# but very friendly. We're still looking for our new baby.

The mischievous dachshunds took advantage of it yesterday. Romeo took every tennis ball out of the tub! His servant (me) put them all back.

Hi all - we hope those who have used the Bark Park are appreciating it :) Ann and Christine have put considerable time into planning and creating the park.

That said, unfortunately, a bit of unsavory news from Ann:

As I was cleaning up the Bark Park this AM, I noticed that some of the large dog toys and the toy basket in the little pup area are missing. The basket was attached with heavy duty zip ties, so someone had to use large clippers to take it.

Ann has asked me to remind attendees that everything in the Bark Park is privately owned or donated by attendees and to please not take anything?

Thanks everyone and continue to enjoy the Bark Park with your furry friends :)

The Bark Park dog social this afternoon was amazing. I've never seen so many dogs all together running and playing and having a good time. I'm sure they've all had a long nap this evening.

Again, thank you Ann for all you and Christine did to make our dogs happy. Just looking at the number of folks who used the bark park, tells you how great a job you did. Love the pictures.
