Anyone driven this before? A good route for RVers? We're planning to stay a little north of Hagerstown for a couple of days.

I've traveled 81 many times, nice drive to Hagerstown. Lot's of places to visit especially if you like visiting Civil War sites. Also not far off 81 is Jefferson's Monticello. You should enjoy the drive, and if you have the time stop and smell the roses. Have a good trip.,

Good place to top off your truck is the Pilot/Flying J at the VA/WV line; Further north the price goes ^^^^^^^^^!!

We are frequent travelers of Route 81 and find it the best way for us to go North to South. Plenty of services along the route at exits. I would reccomend it.
