fyi the other day was mid 90 degrees a/c running a lot had to go into basement storage area and it was really cool down there. thinking how is all this cold air getting down there. traced it to the furnace return air in the step. went to Lowes and got magnetic vent cover to block vent. living area not loosing all that cold air anymore did help. a/c doesn't seem to run as long before cycling off.
