Awful sewer smell in front of coach..

We have a 2017 Bighorn 3875 FB. We walked into our rig last evening with a raw sewage smell in the full bath at the front of the coach and outside the coach as well. We turned on the exhaust fan and emptied all the tanks and closed them but smell got worse. We turned the vent fan off and AC fan on and smell went away or so we thought. The next morning did a walk around and the smell was outside only mainly at the front under the hangover and hitch. Got on the road for 4 hours, setup, and smell is still there but as of now is only at front outside.
Is this a possible black tank leak in the main bath tank or? Any ideas out there?

Not sure of your floor plan, but if you can remove a basement wall, you may be able to see the tank and the plumbing to it. There is a possibility that the toilet piping or vent has a break or separated from the tank fitting and is allowing odors to escape.

This might be another time to call in the RV Tank cleaning and inspection specialists. Try websearching "RV Tank Cleaning in my area" to see if you can find anyone. You also might try asking the park management, or your neighbors.

Here is just one of the nationwide cleaning groups: http://allprowaterflow.com/

Yup that’s what I’ve been thinking as well but cannot figure out why the odor would be at the very front near the hitch. Well I’ll dig into it tomorrow and see what I can see. Thank you...

Took a look at a video of your model. With your description of where the odor seems concentrated, I’d start trying to gain access to the underside of where the toilet is mounted. If you get inside the front compartment, look forward towards the nose, you may be able to see a little ways in towards the nose. From the floor plan, it looks like the toilet is piped under the floor with the tank behind the back basement wall. If the leak is in the nose area, you may be able to see or smell it. A fiber optic camera might be of use.

If there is a problem with the piping in the nose, the skin under the overhang will probably have to be removed to access it.

Good luck!

On my Cyclone, the black tank is on the passenger side, starts on the very front of the unit and runs length ways front to back. If there is no visible sign of liquid, it’s probably safe to guess that it’s in the venting on the top of the tank. The smell in this case would be very noticeable at the front of your unit. This is just my scenario as where your tank could be. It would be worth taking out a few screws and looking into the space holding the tanks.

I had that problem and turned out that the pipe from the toilet to the tank had a vertical section behind the wall in the belly that was coupled together by the factory with a rubber coupler with two hose clamps. It had separated.
