Clean way to hard wire 12V LED light strip under awning.

I have a 2011 Landmark Augusta.
I'm looking for a clean way to hard wire a 12V (60 watts) adhesive LED light strip (from Amazon) under awning (taped to the outside wall).
I would be happy to tag into the light (thereby use the same switch) above the stairway entrance. The inside control panel calls that switch "Porch Light."

Any ideas?

Just remove existing 12 V lamp fixture and make a mouse hole on the bottom of the fixture and solder wires to existing lamp leads???
Then weatherproof wire entry area?

Should that circuit be OK to add 60 watts of 12V current to it??

Sounds like a good plan. Hole in the bottom with a solid wire grommet to seal it (see attached picture for example.) Leave a little loop of wire hanging down for a drip leg so water doesn't run to the fixture. Test the connection before soldering... sometimes leds have a polarity issue and will work one way but not the other. Good luck on your project!

Depending on what style of LED light strip you are installing could be a factor. If you have a remote with sensor for the strip or if you are willing to mount an on/off switch you might consider running your power wires down the awning arm mount. That mount is attached to the side of your rig and has a plastic removable cover that hide the awning motor wires. You can remove that cover and you will see where the awning motor wires enter the coach.
It's a good way to get wires into your rig without drilling more holes. You will probably need to remove some carpet covered panels inside or remove some drawers.

Tell me more about where it would come through on the inside. What line would I tag into? It is 12 volts.

Look at the top of the awning arm you should see where the awning motor wires run. Remove the plastic cover. You will see where the wires enter the coach. Then look inside and find a12 volt wire. You will need a multimeter.
I might have some pics somewhere and if I find them I'll post them.

Either arm? Wires on both sides?
Also, On the inside of the coach where is the access?

You might have to actually climb a ladder and get on your hands and knees and look at your particular coach. Mine id different than yours so these are just general guidelines.

I purchased this channel and channel cover for it and riveted it below the awning channel on the trailer using tri-fold rivets, I haven't installed the light strips yet but that's the plan for this weekend

I've taken a couple pictures. Your coach will be a little different so you'll have to make adjustments. Your wires may come in the coach under a dresser or into a carpet covered raceway. Look for hidden screws, #2 square.
