Good news for Verizon data users. Here's my speed test with only a few rally attendees here using the nearby Verizon tower...

Yea!!!!!

Of course, with only 5 days left before my cycle ends, I just had to drop $35 bucks to keep the speed up for 5 more GB's of Mifi!

Funny how they call it the 'Beyond Unlimited Plan' when you stall have to bend over to keep the speed before the month ends... :p

See you guys tomorrow!

Okay guys, I need your help. Some of you will say ‘what’s the problem?’, the rest of you will understand. I need some positive thoughts thrown our way. We are 90% packed and ready to head it for Pueblo- but we had to put our yellow lab - Jetta in emergency last night. She’s still there...we’re hoping the vet will have news tomorrow morning that allows us to leave and join you. We have traveled with her for every rally for 9 years- many of you know her - she’s the most loving dog we’ve ever had. Sorry for the intrusion, just needing some positive thoughts right now
Ann, Rick... Hugs to you both and Jetta... wish we were there.

Ann so glad to hear your baby is ok. Know Lance has been having lots of problems the last few months, but he is hanging in there. We will see you Monday afternoon.

Hello all - very long story short: my spousal unit inserted the wrong key inyo the front door last night. The wrong key snapped off inside the lock. Could not remove said key. She applied pressure to pull it out. So half of the key is lodged in the lock. It was 11:30pm by this time. In order to sleep in the coach, i used a flathead screwdriver to unlock, success! Of course, lock is ruined. I bought the RV Lock package some months back but did not install AND did not bring with me. So we are stuck. Because of the damage to the front door lock it remains locked so that if we both exit, we can't get back in. I assume I could use the screwdriver once again to force entry but unsure of the results.

We are in Albuquerque but it is Sunday. I am not optimistic on my chances getting a fix today. Will start calling RV dealers to see if they have a replacement front door lock. In the meantime, if anyone can offer short term "fixes" I'd appreciate it.

The Albuquerque Camping World and Le Mesa RV on I-40 west of town are both open on Sunday, I believe.

They are both at the same exit...was just there at both stores last month during the NM HOC Rally just west of those two stores.

Not sure about their service departments, but you should be able to by a replacement lock from either of them!

And La Mesa hosted a lunch for us (burgers and dogs)!

Where are you guys staying in Albuquerque?

Cary,

There are 2 locks; one that when unlocked, opens by pulling the handle, and the other being a deadbolt operated by turning the deadbolt key, or by turning the lever on the inside of the door.

If the deadbolt is the one that's compromised, you can use the lever to open it from the inside when leaving, and close it when in for the night.

When out, you could use the door handle lock to keep the door locked. Not perfect since everyone with an RV has a key to the handle, but who's going to try?

If the door handle lock is the one that's compromised, maybe tape over the striker plate or latch so it can't engage, and use the deadbolt to lock the door.

Thanks everyone. I am currently at the Rt66 RV Resort just off of I40 (behind Casino). I will try the tape over the striker plate to see how that goes. On my Oakmont, the compromised lock is thr bottom of the two.

Thanks again.
