Leaking slide

We have a brand new 2013 Key Largo with auto level system. The first time it rained our living room slide leaked. We tried bringing the slide in and re-leveling, but it still leaked when it rained again. We dropped that side down so that the rain will hopefully run off next time it rains (we live on the Oregon Coast so it rains most of the time). Has anyone else had this problem and if so, any hints or secrets that can help us. Thanks Al & Trish

Hi Al & Trish,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge if needed.

I have not heard of any problems with leaks on the slides, but you never know. You might make sure the lip of the top seal is to the outside and not folded in. I'm sure some others will jump in soon with more ideas.

Enjoy the forum and your Key Largo.

Hi Al and Trish,

I'm not an expert on slides, so I don't have any secret tips, but I think when adjusted properly, the slides are supposed to have a slight tilt down to the outside so water runs off. It sounds like re-leveling so the leaking side is down a bit is an attempt to do just that. So to the extent your attempt is successful, it might indicate the slide needs to be adjusted.

Another thought is that the auto level computer might need calibration. When it finishes auto-leveling, have you checked with a level to see if the rig is actually level?

Final thought: you didn't mention where the slide is leaking. Is it possible the water is coming from a window and is pooling in a place that looks like it's a slide leak?
