Loose A/C Part

Noticed this on our second camping trip in our Pioneer BH250, but didn't take the cover and filter off until today. Can anyone tell me if this is supposed to be loose or should it be mounted somewhere inside the unit?

Pretty sure it should be mounted.

Brand / Model of air conditioner?? Any markings on the box?

I installed a "soft start-up" 3rd party box to my Dometic Penguin 15K BTU air conditioner to lessen the initial high current surge, and allow my portable 3500 watt generator to successfully start up the air conditioner. I haven't looked at that box in a long time, but I remembered that the kit included heavy duty hook and loop tape fasteners to mount the box to a metal surface there. Maybe that is what this "mystery box" is.

Thanks for the reply. After much reading and digging, I think they just failed to put the wing nuts on the control box, which eventually led to it falling off. It's a Coleman Mach and I have now repositioned it to the studs in the side of the unit and can definitely tell a difference in airflow.
