All of the side walls on my slide outs have water damage. The damage is caused by a construction defect. The skids were put on the bottom of the slide and the side walls were put on the outside of the skids. This allowed water to wick up through the wood on the side walls. The metal trim piece was installed over the joint, but the metal trim piece is not water tight. I'm going to purchase some Adzel to replace my side walls and remove the old luan and install it with the slides on the RV. The I will be installing the skids on the outside and bedding them in to prevent leaks. You should look at your rv side walls closely for any swelling or bulging. Also check the slide floors as they will also have damage. Heartland really needs to get their act together.
