New hitch for bike rack

I recently purchased a new hitch from Hitch Mart and installed it on our Bighorn.
The hitch is listed for a motor home but fit the frame on the Bighorn perfectly. I am sure it could be applied to most Heartland Units.
Total cost was about $280.00
Here is the link to Hitch Mart.

I also used a ball type insert for the receiver and then welded a short receiver to the top of it to accept the bike rack and also to raise it about 3 inches.

bike rack

hi, thanks for the info. is there an advantage of having it bolted on as opposed to welded on at dan's welding at elkhart? it looks like a nice setup that you got. thanks, tom

Hidden Hitch

My only thoughts are, if and when I trade The BH for another unit I can simply unbolt the hitch and put it on the new unit.

CEMILL,

Nice install,
I have a similiar hitch and bike rack. Be carefull with bike racks! I lost all 4 of my bikes last year useing a Bell bike rack, the welds failed. Alot more strain is put on a bike rack when it is used on the back of a camper.
