North Trail vs. Mallard

We're looking at both the NT King 30RKDD and Mallard 302. They have identical floor plans with same weight/measurements. Are they the same thing marketed under a different name or are they different trim levels- One is higher end than the other?

Just curious... New to the whole thing.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Grunt4life,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and hopefully to the family.

It is very likely they are both the same, just made for different brands. You might call Heartland Customer Service, 877-262-8032 and ask to be sure.

Hope to see you down the road in a Heartland unit.

Mallard (like Pioneer) is a house-brand that we make specifically for Camping World. There is likely little difference in a Mallard to a comparable North Trail layout other than cosmetics.

We looked at both and decided to go with the North Trail. To us North Trail seemed to be a little better build, keep in mind we are new to this 😀. The axle weight in the North Trail was higher and you couldn't get the quality found in the caliber package with the Mallard. Floor plans were the same and our local dealer was able to give a great price on the North Trail. Their service record was also a selling point. The salesman at CW didn't appear to have confidence in their ability to service our coach if we would have had a problem.

Hiya, we just got a 2017 NT last week and love it! We had rented a smaller trailer last year and it was heavier and not as comfortable, NT is a great way to travel! We also love our two Brittanys too!
