Oil in drive belt area

Onan quoted me 2400 to replace the stator rotor assembly and new brushes.
Original problem was code 33. So I pulled the generator and started the job. Stator and brushes out. Then I flip the generator to access the tensioner and drive belt, it was really oily. Half of the belt was missing. Not sure if the stator rotor assembly was bad or if it was slipping.

I'm going to ad a bit of stop leak run it and then change the oil. Onan tech support suggest that it's 12 year's of a slow leak so I'm not going to worry about it.

Have you taken a resistance reading of you stator? If you could post/send serial and spec number, I could see if I could find the information. I have access to parts, and may be able to get you parts for a little less than retail that most shops price at. If you already have part numbers, even better. If you've already purchased, you'll have the info next time you need something.

Flywheel, pulleys and belt are out. Cleaned up the bottom. I think I need to replace the belt lol.
12 year's old. A new belt has four grooves.
