Sensors and water level

I have visually inspected my fresh water tanks and they have water in them. The sensor reads empty and no water will flow. Does the sensor over rule the waterpump and keep it from working? Or should the waterpump try to pump water regardless of what the sensor says?

never heard of or seen sensor overriding pump function. Make sure valve/s are in the correct position for DRY Camping

You're giving way too much credit to the intelligence of the sensor systems when they don't actually work, at least past the sale. There is absolutely no communications between the sensors and the water pump, thank goodness. If there is water in the fresh water tank, then the pump should draw water. However, being more fair, the fresh water sensor seems to be the one that works the best.
