The DPF, SCR and EGR are one of the worst solutions and when they F-up your screwed.

I think the same thing every time this new fangled truck goes into regen and I literally watch the fuel mileage on the gauge drop from almost 20 mpg to under 10 mpg. How does reducing mpg's help with air quality? It don't.

Safe travels. :)

I often wonder the same thing. :p

I don't drive my truck very far each day so it sometimes takes up to 3 days for a regen to finish. It kills my average millage. :(

I had a 2011 silverado dually, I bought new back on 2012. I traded it on a new RAM, the first time it left me stranded in another state, due to DEF issue's at just under 9500 miles. Oddest thing is that chevy used to regen seemingly all the time, and your right it would suck fuel like crazy during that cycle. I havent even noticed the RAM ever regen that I could notice. I will admit the RAM definitely uses more DEF overall, but not an insane amount.
