Waterpump strainer/ pump fail

So I opened up my driver's side cargo to find a soft spot in the floor. Upon investigation I found that my brand new (7 months old) water pump had failed. It's leaking at the flanged threw all the screws that hold the pump to the motor and also the strainer ( manufacturer said unrepairable ). Pump replacement under warranty. I purchased a residential dehumidifier and placed it in the basement witha drain hose . Three days later my soft spot is about 95% normal.
Now with the new pump in and on I see leaks on the pex fittings so I'm in the basement tighten pex fittings an I noticed that the strainer although tighten is dripping ever so slow but dripping. A bit of lube on the o-ring and still drip drip.
Any ideas.?
Not sure about plumbing tape as the threads are large.
Thanks
BTW I was very lucky that the dehumidifier was able to extract all the moisture.

Our strainer has a hairline crack in it on the back side so you couldn’t see it. Leaked under pressure. You can replace just the strainer
