I took hydrometer readings in all 6 cells of my RV battery. Results:
Cell 1: Gage reads in between 1.275 and 1.300 specific gravity; ("Good Condition") on the hydrometer scale.
Cell 2: Gage reads in between 1.100 and 1.150 specific gravity; ("Recharge") on the hydrometer scale.
Cell 3: Same as Cell 1.
Cell 4: Same as Cell 1.
Cell 5: Same as Cell 1.
Cell 6: Same as Cell 1
The RV is plugged into 30 amp shore power. The battery is therefore under controlled charge. There has been no change in the readings for Cell 2 in 48 hours. Fluid levels are satisfactory.
Question: If one cell is bad and will not accept / hold a charge should I replace the battery?
Thank you in advance.
