Sounds like a great place/time for a rally Greg and Beth. Sorry we won't be able to make it there but it seems the sign-ups are rolling in.

Have fun in Vermont!

Carol & I would like to share our thoughts with a very preliminary agenda for the Pownal rally. When you see the campground, it should be a good reflection of the laid-back, outdoor experience that is associated with Vermont. Hopefully, our agenda will emphasize just that. We're thinking:

. Food

- Thursday 8/2 a welcome dinner at the Chef's Hat family restaurant a couple of miles from the CG--we all pay for our own dinner, but we should have discounts available.

- Friday 8/3 dinner will be a hot dog/hamburg/salads/goodies at the campsite. There will be NO CHARGE for this event, but you will need to bring beverages.

- Saturday 8/4 dinner will be a pot luck. Please bring a dish for all to share, but NO DESSERTS--We will provide ice cream & fixings for dessert

. Things Scheduled:

- Probably a couple of things to visit as a group Friday or Saturday, but not a burn out. We will provide brochures and plenty of information for things of interest in the area and we'll let it play out naturally so we can keep the emphasis on socializing/relaxing and enjoying the area and what the CG and Southern Vermont has to offer.

We'll be in touch as more develops.

Today, I GPS'd 13 points of interest in both Massachusetts and Vermont. I'm not going to give away too much yet, but plan on bringing your GPS unit and camera for this rally. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the War Memorial and have lunch at Massachusetts highest peak (3464 feet) where, on a clear day, the views are incredible. You will also be able to experience the beauty of Vermont's Green Mountains, where you can visit several covered bridges, museums, shopping (antique and otherwise) and even a chocolate confectionary shop and huge apple orchard. For the brave, Carol and I will lead (and have room for one other couple) a back road/gravel road tour that will provide precious memories of the Berkshires and Green Mountains that most folks never see. So get ready to take some pictures that we'll share back at the campground and maybe even post for other HOC members to see. It's shaping up to be a memorable event.

Welcome to Arthur & Margaret. Just a note to anyone else considering attending this rally--all the 50 Amp full hookup sites are now taken. There are two sites left with 30 Amp with full hookup and a bunch of 30 Amp water & electic sites available on the pond's edge. For those considering a 30 Amp water & electric site, there is a dumping station available at the campground.

We are really looking forward to this rally and can't wait to go to Vermont. We altered our reservation from arriving Friday to arriving on Thursday. We don't want to miss the early dinner out! Hopefully we arrive in time to make it.

I guess Margaret and Arthur had a good time in NY. It will be great to see you again! Welcome back!

I'd like to start a list of those that are planning on attending the welcome dinner at Chef's Hat Restaurant Thursday night (August 2nd). I have made plans with the restaurant and we have a 6:30 reservation. Please, via this post, let me know if you will be in attendance and how many in your party. Also, I'm working with the weather Gods for a great day Friday the 3rd for a tour of Mt Greylock , MA highest peak, and maybe a picnic on top for lunch. Saturday is looking like some Vermont activities, so we'll be able to take in both MA and VT sights during this rally. Thanks, and we'll be together again soon. Fran
