When our daughter Rachel was in high school she did 4 years of NJROTC, tried for the Naval Academy but didn’t make the cut (got a full ride Navy scholarship, college of her choice though).

Her senior year she was the CO, her XO and one of her best friends is Ryan Golom.

Ryan went on to the Academy, graduated and shipped off to Pensacola where he earned his wings and was then stationed in California for fighter training.

We just got this picture yesterday.

Always great to hear the good news! Our oldest has been in for 18 years (Navy Civil Eng corp) and it amazes me the outstanding group of people he works with. I believe it is true that they are our "best and brightest"!
