So, We have all been there where something on our rig has broke and we either don't have the capability to fix it or the parts. I wanted to start a list of "back up" items to bring for those "JUST IN CASE" moments!

1)Portable electric space heater. My coach heater has not fired on numerous occasions
2) Extra fresh water and gray water hose
3) Extra sewer attachments

4) Caulk- for leaks!
5) Extra Ladder for fixing lights
6) Fuses (don't forget the radio) mine has a 15amp that blew
7) If you have river tubes - carry extra patch kit
8) Extra bulbs
That's all I have now.:D

Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and is not suppose to use the tape. If it don't move and is suppose to, use WD40.

All the above is nice to have but if you don't have a surge suppressor and a water regulator you might have to have all the tools above.

The things noted above are great to have but don't go out and buy everything in the world. You can pick most of them up as you travel and need them, but you do need a surge suppressor to protect your electrical and electronic equipment in the trailer. You also need a good water regulator incase the shore water pressure is to high. Here are some suggestions.

Surge Guard or Progressive 50amp voltage protectors from Tweety's. If your trailer is 30amp they have ones for them.
Watts Water Regulator from RV Water Filter Store
Watts Brass Model N55BG Adjustable Regulator, 2" diameter 0-160 all stainless oil filled gauge, 6-9 gpm This one is the one I perfer.

Have fun.

Can we get extra entrance keys for the RV directly from Heartland? I have two sets and someone ruined the back door key (it's twisted) and we need a replacement. Or is there someone else I should contact?

Thanks,
Irene

Take your original key to a real locksmith shop (not the local Ace or Walmart's). They should have the blanks for them. That's what I did.

Extra nuts, bolts, screws etc. especially matching ones used on your particular rig.

Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and is not suppose to use the tape. If it don't move and is suppose to, use WD40.

If one of these two doesn't work, you've got an electrical problem.;) Trace

Ditto to all before. Some more...

First Aid Kit (surprised no one mentioned this one yet)

Grease for hitch ball
Folding 4 Way Lug Nut Wrench (Wal-mart).
Jack stout enough to change a trailer tire on your rig.
Gutter nail with copper wire attached to earth ground your portable generator.

I filled an old back pack with a set of tools and supplies (tapes, etc.) - fits in my slide storage compartment better than a tool box would.

Once you buy all of this you will need a second trailer to haul it all or you can be like everyone else and be overweight. LOL..

Next question would be which truck do you need to haul it all..
