My 1/2 Ton Can Pull It

This X-Terra did fine 99% of the time. I didn't appreciate the hour wait behind his 1% though. I'm pretty sure that trailer is going to be over his 5K tow rating.

Any PDI tips for Newbie Prowler owners?

If you can stop today and get the book of all the manuals to take home and read through tonight. Make a list of the 400 questions that will leave you with. Make sure they show you that EVERYTHING works, even if it takes 3 hours. Best plan is to start at one spot and work around the camper, if...

    Baking food in the oven

Re: Uneven cooking in oven Another trick is to set whatever you're baking on an air-bake cookie sheet if you have trouble with the bottom burning.

    no hot water on electric

Make and model of the water heater would be helpful. Some units have a separate thermostat / TCO for the electric side.

Is it safe to run the refrigerator while driving?

Maybe I'm strange. I just freeze jugs of water and place them in the fridge and freezer with the food until we get to where we're going. A couple of trips it's been over 5 hours starting with a warm fridge and everything was fine. Just make sure everything that goes in is already cold and take...

Can we add to the microwave outlet?

Easiest and safest thing would probably be to just unplug the microwave to use the cooktop so only one can be in use at a time.

    Trailer Stolen,, but Recovered

Thinking about it I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. If the thieves had a piece of land and stole a high end 5er and got it there without any traffic infractions who would ever run the VIN on it? In a few years when it's destroyed from living in it, just pull it out dump it along the...

Hammering when faucets (any) is turned on.

I just installed an accumulator tank in our 2014 22FBS for the same reason. Any air in the lines at all (like not purging the outside shower) and the lines behind the shower would make it sound like a boulder in a washing machine. After the accumulator was installed (took maybe 5 min) it's...

Taking delivery of new Bighorn soon. What should I look for during PDI?

Ask to borrow the whole bag of manuals several days ahead of time and read through them before the PDI. Make a list of all the questions that come up from that and have the dealer answer them.

Stressed and unsure after reading forum

Don't worry about all the issues others are having. There are lots of happy people (Like me) who just don't post much. One tip: ask the dealer if you can get all the manuals to take home and look over before your PDI. Spend some time reading through them and make a list of things to ask to see...

No hot water, but the LP burner turns on and runs for about 5 minutes.

Make sure the outside shower is turned off at the knobs and that the crossover valve for winterizing the WH is closed. You might just have a mixing problem which can feel like no hot water at all.

    De-Winterizing a 2012 North Trail 22fbs

We just got our 2014 but the floor plan looks the same as the 2012. The water pump in ours is accessed by removing the lower drawer in the kitchen counter closest to the entry door. I haven't dug around for the water heater bypass yet.

    Purchasing a 2014 North Trail 22FBS

Got my surge protector mounted today. Plenty of room behind the converter. There was even enough slack in the cable that I didn't need any extra. I did however break my side cuts on the 10-2 cable :( Snapped the handle right off them.

    Purchasing a 2014 North Trail 22FBS

I looked at places to stick the surge protector. It's great that the cabinets are solid from a structural standpoint, but it makes accessing some of the free spaces really difficult. There looks like space behind where the power inlet is, I'll just have to pull the outside shower to have a large...
