We have a 2001 DuraMax. On a trip a few years ago we found that it is not prudent to go too much past the 15,000 miles they recommend for changing the fuel filter. I have it done regularly now.
I also found out that it is not cheap to have the dealers change them. I can get the filter for...
As a follow up I wanted to let you know that Vision Wheel reimbursed me for their cost of two new Load Boss tires and the cost to repair our coach. However, their cost for their tires is no where near that of the Goodyear tires I replaced them with. I had plenty of documentation and sent them...
I just wanted to say that Barbara and I had a great time. We met such wonderful people. And a special thanks to Jim for all the work he did to make the rally a huge success!
Ken, there were no warning signs that I noticed on the tire that shredded. In fact, I checked the tires, and torque, not 60 miles before the incident. That is when I decided to do more investigation and found the sidewall on the last Load Boss about ready to give. I also have a Grand Canyon...
John,
I had 110psi in them. I checked them that morning. The tires had somewhere around 10,000 to 15,000 miles on them. The treads looked new when they came apart.
Thanks,
David
Three weeks ago I had a nail in a Load Boss tire that developed a slow leak. I took it to be plugged and the Firestone service manager said he could fix the nail hole, but the sidewall was defective and the tire would have to be replaced. Since we already had one Goodyear tire from the when...
Jerky Ride
I have been working with Dale Fenton of TrailAir for several months now. We installed a pinbox with a new concept he is working on. The ride has improved greatly, however, Dale is not satisfied. He has another idea that I will test this spring. We also had a leak and lost air in...
Jeff,
Let’s try again. One thing I learned when I use to teach business writing was that the written word is only about ten percent effective. And I don’t think I am “scoring” that high! Talking on the phone is better, and face-to-face the best.
I think you are misconstruing my...
Hi Jeff:
This is Dave.
I did not know you were referring to the “manufacturer” as that of the door. I thought you were referring to the trailer manufacturer.
However, I still have a problem. If this is the door manufacturer fix, then they are leaving themselves open for lawsuits...
Jeff,
Thanks for the suggestion. When we were up in Elkhart a few weeks ago Scott suggested the same thing. However, I have a little problem with this "fix." I know I can do it (drill the holes) but I think the best method would be some adjustment of the door to make it drain like my old...
Jim,
Thanks for the tip. Have you also had any problems with water running out on the floor of the trailer from the "gutter" at the bottom of the door when you open the door after showering? On the last coach I had the door, when opened, tilted inward so the water in the gutter would drain...
TrailAir Ride
Jim,
Thanks for your reply. Since I have always towed travel trailers until now, I really did not know what to expect. We were told that the ride would be much better with a fiver in the tow vehicle. TrailAir has really gone over and above. They even want us to come to the...
We have been working with Trailair because we feel the ride with our 2001 Chevy, 3500 Crewcab, longbed is too jerky while towing our Grand Canyon. Is anyone else having such a problem?
We have been working with Trailair because we feel there is too much jerking while towing our Grand Canyon. We tow with a 2001 Chevy 3500, Crewcab, longbed with a Reese 20K hitch. Does anyone else have a problem like this?
