    Winterizing an '11 MPG 184 <RANT WARNING>

Manufacturers are getting better and better at making the systems cleaner, easier to repair and easier to operate. That's why it was so frustrating to find this cobbled-up setup on this particular late model trailer as it's otherwise well-designed.

    Winterizing an '11 MPG 184 <RANT WARNING>

<RANT ON> Wow... I've owned a LOT of travel trailers over the years. This is THE most counter-intuitive design engineering I've ever seen in winterizing a trailer in the past 15 years. Perhaps there are some that are worse... but I haven't seen one. Who-ever allowed this assembly process...

    Slide problems?

I drove over Friday to show them what I was seeing. The toilet is apparently a victim of the wet bath shower pan design. There's a quarter-inch clearance at the front of the toilet between the pedestal and the shower pan as the shower pan slopes down. An interesting design. I guess it'll...

    Slide problems?

I would have thought it to be a pretty binary operation too... how tough is it to see that a toilet rocks on its base and that the fender is scratched... and the service writer claims that both the tech and his supervisor checked it and can't replicate the problem or see the scratches; and...

    Slide problems?

I recently bought one of the last '11 mpg 184s in captivity. I've towed it about 2500 miles now, and I noticed that the bottom of the slide is apparently striking the fender. There are scratches on the fender. The only weight on the slide is a few towels in the cupboard above, so that's not...

    Unhitch or not?

Trace, typically the only significant draw on the 12v system would be a three way fridge on 12v. Make sure your fridge is running on AC or propane for the night, and even if you're using your furnace or lighting, you won't use enough DC power overnight to kill the deep cycle RV battery much...

Anyone replace the bath vent fan?

I just installed a fantastic fan in the main vent in my 184. I actually bought it five or six years ago to put into a different trailer and I just never got 'round to doing it. The mpg seemed to be the perfect place for it. Properly installed and caulked, you won't have any leaks. Although...

    MPG Gas Mileage

Just finished my first trip with the mpg behind my Toyota FJ Cruiser. I get 18-19 mpg pretty consistently with the FJ Cruiser unladen... with a 600 mile round-trip with the mpg trailer, I consistently got 13.1 mpg on each of three tanks of gas. That's driving at 55-60 mph and I'm always...

Will the roof of an MPG support the weight of a person?

I was on the roof of my 184 today installing a fantastic fan. No problems at all.
