I have an '06 Mega and didn't think twice about it.... Bought a Superglide at the same time as the trailer and had it installed BEFORE picking up the trailer...
Considering how much I've got invested between cost of truck and trailer, the Superglide *almost* guarantees that I won't have...
Yep, that's what I do as well. Lube with WD-40 (cleaning everything with dry paper towel first) and then apply a light film of WD.
Also keep the hitch (when installed in the truck) under a tonneau cover and out of sight/elements.
