from what i remember, it was suggested to turn your fridge on around 6pm. this would put the unit in defrost mode during the night and not during the heat of the day.

Normally grab the lens in the middle and squeeze a little on both sides, should pull down and off. Similar to the regular lens cover on the smaller 12 lights in your rf.
