    Tow capacity-Really?

http://www.fleet.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/towingguides/2004_All.pdf Problem is 2004 was the year before the tow war started. If you look there is no difference in ratings past a certain point. EI 3.73 and 4.10 have same tow rating. Not so after 2005. I tow 12,000# (by CAT Scale) with...

SRT vs DRT vs Gas vs Deisel vs 5er vs Gooseneck for TransCanadian Highway & up to Alaska

Since you mention being on a budget, remember that the older trucks do not have the ratings of the newer trucks. There was a big jump in 2005 so you have to look at the individual truck and just not assume. Case in point a new (2015) 2500 truck may have ratings of a pre 2005 dually. My 2004 F350...

Thanks Bob&Patty, the dealer/shop found a bad/missing seal along bottom of slide when closed (ie "saw the light" ), contacted HL and it's now being repaired. Thanks again for your help. Melissa

    ATF: Sundance - floor

We have a 2012 3100RB (built 10/2011) and recently found a soft spot on the drivers side in front of the couch by where the carpet joins the vinyl. The dealer/shop is having a hard time finding the source or cause. It is forward of the wheels. We have driven a couple of times in the rain. The...

Driving through Maryland with a non-resident Concealed Carry Permit

So my NRA vanity plate might be a clue? Even a bullet or a spent shell can case issues at the Canadian Border. Some knives depending upon blade length and crossbows are also "weapon issues" at the border. Traveling in the east coast is just a pain.

    Whole house type surge protector

http://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems_hw50c.htm This unit has worked well for us. My dealer installed for me. The display is mounted in the cabinet with all the other displays.

2012 sundance 3200 where to place tv in bedroom

Depends upon your floor plan, several 3200 models. I had a sticker on the wall in each bedroom that says "tv mount" (r something similar) to identify the location designed to support the tv.

ATF: Sundance - SOFA BED REMOVAL

My couch just sits there. There is a strap to secure it while I travel. I believe the back comes off and then I'd strap around the base to keep it closed while you move it. Thinking of replacing mine with a pair of recliners.

    30 or 50 amp protector

I'd suggest the 50 amp internal PI with the remote display. In our Sundance the unit mounted behind the wall in the basement by the stairs. The remote display was easily mounted in the cabinet by the stairs which contained all the other gages and controls. We did eventually add the 2nd A/C unit.

Adding second AC unit, is this a DIY upgrade?

I watched the tech install our 2nd A/C (actually, I went with the heat pump). Pretty straight forward for the non-ducted unit. Getting the unit safely on the roof was the hardest part. Due to health reasons (asthma) have to keep the RV at 70 degrees. Sliding the flow divider plate in the main...

    Can we legally make a 2500 into a 3500?

Towing a 18,000# trailer is 1 issue, the other is the 3,600# pin weight. GVWR is probably 9,200# (check drivers door column) truck probably weights 7,000# so 2,000#? payload. Probably only has a 6,084# rear axle. GCWR is 22,000# (7,000 truck + 18,000# trailer = 25,000#) Personally, I think you...

Now know the minimum stopping distance required

When I teach Smith System Driving Techniques to truck drivers, we teach them a minimum 6-8 second following distance (500-700' at 60 mph) and to keep your eyes looking at least 15 plus seconds down the road to identify possible issues. As you have probably experienced, not everyone practices this.

    Next Newbe Question: Air Compressor

Re: Next Newbe Question: Air Compressor Not to be a wise guy but there is a 120 v 20 amp outlet in most power pedestals. An extension cord would solve the 120 v power issue. It least that is what I do. I have a 2 gal 100# air compress since that is all I need and I just use an extension cord...
