One thing, we had both problems and employed both solutions. The big "BUT" do not purchase the cheep studor valve. The $35 - $40 dollor whit one is the one you want. Not the black $7 - $10 dollar one. The cheep one has a rubber flap to seal and the other uses a spring.
Do you have a light under your steps? On our Big Horn, it took six months until I found out that an unmarked switch turned the under the step on and off.

Don't drain your fresh water tank fully. Drain it an down a little so that no water is going out of your overflow. If your problem is not solved, at least you have not used up an entire fresh water tank of water.

Do you have slide toppers? If not, the sound with rain is very loud. Rain that hit our Big Horn roof was not so bad. The slides were more than what we could take so we got slide toppers. Realy helped a lot with the sound made by the rain.
