    Question for residential fridge owners

The rig is out of warranty. I haven't gotten so much as a too bad so sad from Heartland. I had to eat the deductible from the rv policy as well as the cost of fabricating a secure mounting for the fridge. Close to $1,000 out of pocket.

    Question for residential fridge owners

Nope the slide was not replaced, just the floor. Unfortunately there was a lot of cabinetry and the stove as well as fridge mounted on the floor. In order to replace the floor everything touching it has to be removed. Just got the rig back after almost 3 weeks. It would not have been necessary...

    Expensive option

Travel tiger and Carl, yup I have progressive and they do have up to $750 for out of house stay. My mistake for not making it clear in the original post and second one. sorry. Fortunately we have a friend who has allowed us to stay at their place for the time as the insured amount would likely...

    Expensive option

As stated in Paragraph 2, there is coverage for the repairs to the floor, but only from my RV policy, not the service contract.

    Expensive option

We bought our 2014 Big Horn in early 2014 and were excited to have a residential fridge rather than an RV fridge. I was looking forward to not having to defrost every 3 to 4 weeks and having more food storage. The icemaker / water spigot was an added bonus. Then the troubles started. Heartland...

    Question for residential fridge owners

Follow up on the original post. Just got the repair estimate. The repair will take about 10 days to 2 weeks and will require removal of the slide. If no further damage is found then it will cost about $7800.00 to replace the slide floor.

FOUND: Ice maker water shut-off (Road Warrior)

Be aware that a frequent source of water leaks into your rig are from icemaker lines. I have a very expensive repair starting next week because of one. I won't be having the water line replaced and will do without the icemaker in the future.

    Slide wood floor separating

I have already had the issue examined. A piece of metal under the slide might get me to the shop but that's about it. The entire slide floor is delaminating under the fridge and towards the other end of the slide. I am just hoping that the floor on the main part of the trailer is still sound. We...

How many miles on your tow vehicle

My truck has about 600,000 miles on it now. Bought it used in 04 with 495,000 miles on it. I figure I'll continue using it until it's time to hang up the keys.

ATF: Bighorn - ice maker water line

Thanks for the icemaker info. Right now that is pretty insignificant. I just found that the floor under the fridge is delaminating on the underside and self destructing due to slide operation. I guess I didn't find the water leak soon enough to avoid losing the floor. Now instead of just finding...

    Bighorn - waste valves

Re: ATF: Bighorn - waste valves Warranty period is over now. Just have to find someplace that can do major work however. New issue I just found this morning.

    Slide wood floor separating

I just found out I will need to replace the floor on the slide on our rig on the fridge side. Leak from the icemaker is the cause. I had hoped I caught it early enough to avoid damage. When I went to dump tanks I saw pieces of wood sticking out of the slide where it meets the wall of the...

    Another wet underbelly question

Don't let water leaks go for any length of time. I just found out that the leaking icemaker line on the fridge has taken out the entire floor of the slideout. The thing is delaminating on the bottom and self destructing from operating the slide.

    Bighorn - waste valves

Re: ATF: Bighorn - waste valves I have been using one of those last ditch valves. The reason I want the proper equipment functioning is because I dislike having to go through the dump procedure every two or three days because the main grey tank fills up from showers and laundry. You may like...

    Hydraulic issue... pump cutting out?

Anyone that has the 2 50 amp breakers (or two 40 amp) set up could you post a picture of what the set up looks like? I am contemplating doing the dual breaker option if it will fit the bus bar but don't know how thew wiring would be done.
