Any solutions for the cushions for the dinette?

We put the cushions in large plastic leaf bags and set them in the back of our truck at night. We used a Queen size Areo Bed (inflateable matress with built in electric pump) instead of the cushions and it worked great. Putting the sheets on the matress was a little difficult because the...

ATF: MPG - Furnace Very Loud

I had a 181 up until a month ago that I traded in on a larger travel trailer. We also noticed that the furnace was very loud on our 181 and started using a small electric ceramic heater during cold weather. Not only was it much quieter, it used the campgrounds electricity instead of our...

Will the roof of an MPG support the weight of a person?

Just wondering if it is safe from the standpoint of not damaging my roof if I walk on it when cleaning. So far I just reach across with a sponge on the end of a long extension pole but I could do a much better job if I could stand up there.

Anyone install an awning on their MPG?

Yes I saw the Dome Awning on EBay AFTER I bought mine from Heartland which was part of the deal on the MPG camper. I really like my Dome Awning but if I had it to do over again I would have bought it off of Ebay. Based on the advertising on the Heartland website I was expecting something that...

Hi, new to MPG and this forum

I think you'll be happy with the decision to get a vehicle with more tow capacity, I know I was. I do miss my Santa Fe though, it's a great little car and gets good gas mileage when not towing. The F150 Eco Boost gets good gas milage when not towing too and now I have more space for carrying cargo.

Hi, new to MPG and this forum

Hi 2gocamp, We initially started towing our MPG 183 with a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe which had A 3.5 V6 engine with a towing capacity of 3500 lbs. It got the job done but on long trips down hilly interstate highways the Santa Fe just seemed under too much of a strain and that was with keeping my...

MPG Compartment Locks - Difficulty to use

Re: Useless Compartment Locks Papa Mike, I'm really glad you brought this issue up because it's really caused me a lot of frustration too on my 2011 MPG 183. Like several others mentioned here, I have to push on the door very hard and turn at the same time in order to get them open. I have...

    MPG custom cover

I must have missed it too and I looked on the ADCO site and site for Camping World. I ended up just ordering an ADCO 20' cover for a regular travel trailer. There is a lot of excess cover hanging kff the back but it seems to work very well.

What do you tow with, and do you use a WD-Hitch?

I was towing my MPG 183 with a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe with a towing capacity of 3500 lbs. I had tow brakes, sway bar and a weight distribution hitch. No problems on short hauls to local campgrounds but when we started taking longer trips down the interstate though the hills of Arkansas it just...

Can I tow without Tow Package?

I towed my MPG 183 with a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe for several months after first purchasing my camper. The vehicle didn't have a tow package but it did come with a 275 hp V6 engine and I added a load leveler trailer hitch, sway bar and trailer brake. On short trips, the Santa Fe towed my MPG...

    Propane Furnace and Power Converter

Has anyone that has actually used their propane furnace noticed that there is no Off swtich? The first time I used the furnace in my 181 I noticed that it's fuse was not in the socket in the fuse panel. Instead the fuse was taped to the inside of the fuse panel door. I installed the fuse and...

ATF: MPG - Front Stabilizer Jacks

How about the pyramid shaped stablizer jacks that you would just place underneath each front corner then screw the jack post up tight to the bottom of the camper frame? I know I remember seeing a picture of an MPG camper with this type of jack under the front and I was thinking of getting a...

MPG: Does the HWH run on Electric and Gas at the same time?

Thanks for the info! That explains why my furnace is running when the Heater switch is turned off on the monitor panel. We are currently out on our first trip where we needed to run the furnace and dicovered the fuse had been removed and taped to the inside of the fuse panel. Apparently this is...

MPG: Does the HWH run on Electric and Gas at the same time?

Well now I think I need some clairification about this. My MPG 183 has a monitor panel alright and there are 3 switches along the bottom. one is labled test and provides a readout of the tanks and battery level. One is labeled Pump which is switched on when not connect to city water and one is...
