    Baja Mexico Info

Planning on visiting upper part of the Baja this winter, staying in San Quintin, Guerrero Negro and Santa Rosalia. Any suggestions on RV campgrounds in those towns? Any caveats for crossing the border in Tecate? Thanks!

ATF: Edge - Uneven tread wear; bent axles?

Thanks for all the input! The tires are Power King Towmax radials. I've been good about maintaining correct inflation. They're due for rotation, will have the experts scope things out. Neither my eyes nor my measuring devices are top of the line. By the way, what is the recommended rotation...

ATF: Edge - Uneven tread wear; bent axles?

I have 16000 miles on my EDGE M21 trailer. Just noticed that there is more tread wear on the outside edge of all 4 tires than on the inside edge. A possible cause of this condition is bent axles. I put a straight edge on the bottom of both axles and found that both are about 1/2" higher in...

    M21 Touch-Up Paint

I finally got meaningful answers from Matt Cameron in the Heartland parts dept. The paint is apparently a custom mix with 5 components, and you have to take the formula to a Diamont paint dealer to get a batch mixed up. I'd never heard of Diamont before this, have no idea where one might find...

    M21 Touch-Up Paint

Thanks for the reply. Half the battle is won: confirming that the manufacturer, name and number are corrrect. The other half of the battle is finding out where I can get the paint: what is the name and contact information for your vendor?

    M21 Touch-Up Paint

Hello Heartland. Hello, hello! Is there anybody out there or this a vacuum? I'd appreciate an answer. Hello!

    M21 Touch-Up Paint

Thanks for the tip, debunk. I'll check that out if Heartland doesn't come through.

    M21 Touch-Up Paint

I have some chips in the white exterior paint of my 2010 EDGE M21, so I sent an email to Heartland customer service asking for touch-up paint information. They responded with a copy of a fax that appears to be one page of a multiple-page order or invoice. That page contains these clues...

    M21 Awning/lights/doors/weatherproofing

We’ve just spent 3 months traveling in our M21, logged 12000 miles on all kinds of roads, from Arizona to Minnesota to Alaska to Oregon – a thorough test. Suggested improvements: 1. Awning. Move it about 2’ towards the front. a. When awning is extended, the entry door bangs into...

    Suspension Noise

Thanks for the input. I've been using SILOO brand all purpose white lithium grease on the ball and WDH friction points. The 'automotive uses' listed on the tube include chassis and springs, but I'm wondering if there's something that would be better. Anybody? Any highly-experienced grease...

    Suspension Noise

My new EDGE M21 trailer creaks loudly, even on fairly level roads, especially when turning. I think the noise is coming from the suspension/leaf springs/frame. I've sprayed all the contact points on the leaf springs with WD40 a couple times, but that didn't seem to help. Suggestions on how...

    Warning: Window Blowout!

Thanks for all the comments and input, guys and gals. I didn't mean to inspire a replay of the Lincoln/Douglas debates. For the record, I can afford the $130, I agree that it's not worth the effort to pursue Heartland or the window maker any further, that accidents can and do happen, and...

    Warning: Window Blowout!

Not sure if M21 and M22 have same large window but probably do: it has one strut on each side and 5 thumb latches. So, the cost I mentioned was for 2 struts plus shipping from factory. My dealer is 1500 miles away, so I ordered direct from the factory.

    Front End Protection

I got the Atwood deluxe with 2500 pound capacity and it works fine, saves a lot of hand cranking. I have a weight distribution hitch and Atwood recommends the 3500 pound model for WDHs. Trouble is, they don't tell you that in the ads; found out when I read the owner's manual. Both my trailer...

    Warning: Window Blowout!

Warning: Window blowout! I'm posting this in two places (General; Design Ideas) because all owners need to be aware of it, and maybe the factory will do something about it. We were recently camped in Death Valley NP without hookups on a very hot day with wind gusts up to 35 MPH. No hookups...
