Anyone mount a gun safe in a 5er?

As Hoefler said, you could use an Air Line travel case if you only had a couple of long guns, but you would still have to attach it or they would just take the whole thing... also, I think that someone with a big knife could cut one open in short order...even the aluminium ones. I have two of...

12 volt landing gear not working

Glad to hear that you got it working... Just for info, my 5th wheel has a 30 amp fuse mounted in an "inline" fuse holder. It is in the back of the front compartment on the drivers side. It was pointed out to me when I picked up the unit for the first time........ boy, I'm glad he pointed it out...

    Easy addition of an Inverter.

I use a fuse. I have found that going to an auto parts store.... like PEP BOYS, is the best place to buy fuses and holders... I buy the stuff that is made to put on the high wattage car stereo systems. Seems that they are less than half the price that the Inverter web sites get for them...

    towing gas mileage

Yep.... I too have an auxilary fuel tank. I have a combination 50 gal/tool box tank. It sure makes it nice. I can wait until I find a easy IN-OUT fuel stop. I also use Frantz toilet paper fuel filter on my Duramax.... It works great... I've cut open the factory filters, and found them to be...

    towing gas mileage

My tow vehicle is a 2004 Chevy.. HD 6.6L Duramax, 4X4 Ex-Cab, Allison Xmission, exhust system, opened up air system and power programer. I pulled my last 5th wheel, a 31' high profile unit, close to 60K miles from coast to coast and border to border. My overall average was between 11 and 12...

    solar panel installation

I've installed more Solar panel arrays than I can count. Both at work on mountain top repeater sites and on MANY RVs. I purchased truck loads of used panels when they closed the HUGHE Carrizo Plains Solar generating facility in So Cal. I then resold them as an installed package on house boats...

    Spare tire carrier on 245RL

No more problem... I can now utilize the full 200# capacity of the rack without any overload worry. There is plenty of room and leftover load for my Yamaha generator.... fully fueled. Also, the spare tire is easy to get to.... I just crank it down. Lippert sells the spare tire carrier, but I...

Hey Yellowreef, that is exactly what I used to fix the problem. Here is a photo of the finished results.

    Large holes in Chassis

I did get a response from Hartland. They agreed that the holes probably were cut at the factory. That's all they said, so I'm going to leave it at that. Of course I have kept the emails... but I doubt that there will be any problem. I think that I will at least grind the sharp points off. I took...

    Large holes in Chassis

YES! This unit is a NEW 2011 5th wheel, never been registered, and made just a few months ago. I bought it from See Grins in San Martin, Ca. They are an EXCLUSIVE Hartland dealer. I purchased it about a month ago. I sent the photos to Hartland and to Lippert at the same time. Lippert responded...

    Large holes in Chassis

I finally got to use my new Sundance 245RL. I like it. However... when I went to dump the Black Water tank, I found that the release handle was on the inside of the chassis. The Grey water handle is on the outside of the chassis. In order to access the Black Water handle, two LARGE holes have...

    Easy addition of an Inverter.

I mounted a 30 Amp RV receptical next to my inverter, which is mounted in the front compartment less then a 18" run from the batteries. The shorter the low voltage run.... the better. To use it, I just plug in the shore line. That way, it is impossible to have the rig pluged into both the...

The first thing that I did.... the day after I brought the new rig home, was to get rid of the cheap mattress and put in a good one. Snakebite
